Kim and Reggie Harris bring their special blend of folk and gospel music and storytelling to the Walkabout Clearwater Coffeehouse on Saturday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church, 250 Bryant Avenue in White Plains, NY. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance, $23 at the door, $15 at the door with a student I.D. and $10 for children 6-12. The Coffeehouse is family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free. Refreshments are available both before the show and during intermission. There is plenty of free parking. They combine a strong folk and gospel legacy with a solid background in classical, rock, jazz and pop music. Their repertoire includes songs about the Civil War and the Civil Rights movement, spirituals, songs of labor, freedom and love. This celebrated wife/husband duo has been weaving magic with creativity and precision... embodying a tradition of music that has inspired millions across age, culture, ethnicity and political differences to find new ways to connect. With eight CD releases on the Folk Era and Appleseed Recordings labels and with materials developed in their work with the Kennedy Center, Kim and Reggie are recognized pioneers, lecturers and contributors in historical and educational circles and are featured on compilations, films and educational projects worldwide.
