Security is Everyone's Business

 

Westchester PC Users' Group (WPCUG) will present Bob Gostischa, Lecturer on Technology and Cyber Security, at its monthly General Meeting on Thursday, September 3, 2015. Join us for this presentation which will provide an indepth understanding of the loopholes and pitfalls of using a computer and browsing the Internet. It will decrease the likelihood of you becoming a victim of the many common scams that await the uninformed user.

Come and discover how some threats hide in unexpected places. Learn the difference between privacy and security and what you can do to enjoy both. Also included will be a discussion of programs that will keep you and your computer safe and secure.

Bob,
who is often referred to as the Avast Antivirus Software “Forum Evangelist” will be pointing out some basic computer safety tips as well as simple procedures that will increase your security. Discover the benefits of installing Avast on your computer so you’re protected against viruses, worms, trojans and rootkits. Also covered will be the safety and security recommendations for the Android smartphone and tablet.

Bob
will simplify, clarify, and demystify what you need to know to stay safe. He is certain to make your Internet experience and computer operation safe, secure, and enjoyable.

This talk will be held at 120 Bloomingdale Road, 1st floor, on September 3, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. Take the curved driveway on the right just past the building.
