In honor of those whose lives were lost or forever changed by the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, County Executive Robert P. Astorino will join Volunteer New York! and Robison to host “9/11: Serve + Remember” at the Westchester County Center on Friday, Sept. 11, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Special focus will be given this year to the everyday heroes who save lives by donating blood, bone marrow and stem cells, as well as those who volunteer as first responders in their communities.

Please note: The 9/11 memorial ceremony will start at 7 p.m. at the "The Rising" at Kensico Dam in Valahalla.

The public is invited to attend both events.
