At 1 PM, Michael J. Kahn of the Yorktown Historical Society explores a little known battle of the Revolutionary War fought at today’s Yorktown Heights, Westchester County, NY.  In the May 1781 battle, a Loyalist brigade defeated a Continental army regiment from Rhode Island which consisted mostly of African American soldiers.   The presentation also discusses a planned monument to the Americans killed in the engagement.
