Dead On Live celebrates the life and music of the Grateful Dead’s spiritual leader Jerry Garcia, by presenting an evening of music that digs deep into to his incredible, stylistically-diverse career. From his bluegrass roots, psychedelic 60s, to his amazing artistic development of the 70’s, both as a songwriter and musician, DOL pays tribute to his legacy, taking you on a sonic journey that faithfully recreates the touch and tone, the heart and soul of this American music icon.
Based on their unique approach of note for note renditions, Dead On Live has become nationally recognized as one of the standout acts on the scene today paying tribute to the music of the Grateful Dead. DOL shows have featured specific records of specific eras, performing “Workingman’s Dead” and “American Beauty”, the 71-72 era with songs from “Skull and Roses” and the iconic “Europe 72”, the 73-74 show with selections from “Wake of The Flood” and “Mars Hotel”, and their epic Halloween Wall of Sound show. DOL recently presented their most ambitious project, Terrapin Station as released in 1977, note for note in its entirety featuring the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra.
