Second Public Hearing for the Department of Senior Programs and Services

Friday, October 06, 2017  09:00am  11:00am

The Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services will hold a second public hearing with review and public listening session on Friday, October 6, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Westchester County Center, 198 Central Avenue, White Plains.  This session will replace the meeting previously scheduled for October 31, 2017.

The modification of the first draft of the 2018 area plan from the September 22, 2017, public hearing will be included at the October 6, 2017, meeting. The department will review the goals and objectives of the 2018 area revised plan on the proposed use of funds from the Older Americans Act and the New York State Community Services for the Elderly Program.  The final 2018 area plan, incorporating October 6 input, will be submitted to the New York State Office for the Aging in December of 2017 after approval by the County Executive.

This second session offers many more concerned citizens and leaders the opportunity to participate earlier than the original October 31 follow-up date and also accommodates those unable to attend on September 22.

We are asking speakers to identify the many beneficiaries of services we provide to help older citizens maintain a healthy and dignified lifestyle.  Registration is not required to attend or speak at the meeting.  Requests for a sign language interpreter or other accommodations can be made by Wednesday, September 20, 2017, to Rose Pasquale at 914-813-6415.
