Knowing the pH level of your soil helps to ensure optimal plant growth. It lets you know if any soil adjustments need to be made, it influences what plants are best suited for an area and influences the availability of essential nutrients. Learn how to do a soil pH test yourself using provided soil samples or a sample of your own soil. If you bring your own soil, bring just one cupful taken at the depth of a trowel. Soil samples need to be almost dry in order to be tested, so if the soil is wet when you take a sample, lay it out on paper towels to dry out. You will get information on how to change your soil pH, if it is needed. Visit LasdonPark.org for registration details. |
