Currently celebrating its 25th Anniversary Season and past recipient of the Arts Westchester Organization of the Year Award, Taconic Opera invites you to the world premiere performance of an original oratorio composed by the company’s director, Dan Montez: Joseph. All performances will include professional lead singers, the Taconic Opera Orchestra and Chorus, and will be conducted by the composer himself.

The composition is based on the well-known scriptural figure, Joseph, Jacob's son with his coat of many colors. Sold by his brothers into slavery in Egypt, he eventually becomes powerful and saves his family and the Israelites from desolation. Nearly three hundred years have passed since anyone has set this sacred narrative as an oratorio.
