Our traditional Independence Day celebration, featuring a reading of the Declaration of Independence and tolling, 13 times, of the historic church bell. There will also be talks, refreshments, and music. Guided tours explore the 18th century church, used as a military field hospital during the Revolutionary War, and the historic cemetery, among the nation's oldest burial yards. St. Paul's staff will give ongoing talks about the Declaration of Independence and women in the American Revolution. General Washington will be on hand, in his tent, holding court on war against the British. |
