SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH

Talking about mental health struggles and suicide can be challenging, but it's a conversation that has the power to save a life. Join us for Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper training, a practical, evidence-based approach to learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, engage with someone who is in crisis, and refer them to appropriate professional help. In this session you will learn practical skills to:

  • Question someone in a compassionate and non-judgmental way to determine if they are experiencing suicidal thoughts.
  • Persuade them to seek help.
  • Refer them to professional resources that can provide the necessary assistance.

Anyone can be in a position to support someone in crisis and even save a life! This training is appropriate for the general public, ages 16 years and older.  Register now to make a positive difference in the life of someone you know.

This training is brought to the community by Greater Mental Health of New York (formerly the Mental Health Associations of Westchester and Rockland).
