Concerto competition winners and student composers will be the focus of The Symphony of Westchester’s Young Artist Showcase on Sun., Feb. 9, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Iona College’s Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium. Three winners of the Symphony’s sixth annual Young Artist Concerto Competition will each play a movement of a Baroque or early Classical period concerto with the fully professional Symphony. Also in this program, the Symphony will perform compositions written by students from the Composers of the Future program, a 24-year-old collaboration with New Rochelle’s Songcatchers after-school organization. A snow date for this concert has been set for Sat., Feb. 8 at 3:00 p.m. The decision to use the snow date will be made on Fri., Feb. 7 and will be available on the Symphony’s website: www.thesymphonyofwestchester.org and by phone: (914) 654-4926. Special reduced ticket prices for this concert are $20 for all adults and $10 for children and students. The Symphony of Westchester will conclude its concert season on Sat., May 9, 2020, at 8:00 p.m. with violinist Yoo Jing Jang in an all-Romantic program. Christopher J.
