Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center: Discussion with author Daniel Lee: The S.S. Officer’s Armchair: Uncovering the Secret Life of a Nazi Please join the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center and Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester in a discussion with Daniel Lee, author of The S.S. Officer’s Armchair: Uncovering the Secret Life of a Nazi Based on documents discovered concealed within a simple chair for seventy years, this gripping investigation into the life of a single S.S. officer during World War II encapsulates the tragic experience of a generation of Europeans. It is an enthralling detective story telling the daily life in the Third Reich. It provides a window into the lives of Hitler’s millions of nameless followers and how ordinary people enacted history’s most extraordinary atrocity. Daniel Lee is a historian of World War II and a specialist in the history of Jews in France and North Africa during the Holocaust. He is a lecturer in Modern History at Queen Mary, University of London. This discussion will take place from the comfort and safety of your own home on August 17 at 12 Noon.
