Don’t let social distancing also become emotional distancing. Prior to the pandemic, 45% of the population reported feeling lonely. Now social distancing, sheltering in place and unemployment are amplifying feelings of isolation and loneliness. For some, particularly veterans and military families, this can become a devastating side effect that can lead to serious and sometimes deadly mental and physical health outcomes. The Bronxville Women’s Club, The Mental Health Association of Westchester, and our co-sponsors are launching a community outreach program in an effort to support our community of veterans and military families, “Break the Isolation”. Register for free virtual program tailored specifically for our military-connected community and learn how a simple phone call to say “Hi, how are you doing?” can become an emotional connection that makes someone’s day, as well as your own. “Break the Isolation” leverages he healing power of human connection with a simple phone call to a fellow veteran, military family, or anyone with a military connection who you haven’t hears from in a while. Wednesday, October 21st 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm Register at: http://ow.ly/AHDo50BOHuT This 1 Hour Zoom session will provide you with practical information and actions steps that can lead to reducing someone’s sense of isolation and loneliness.
