Jacob Purdy House will be open for visiting with authentic displays of what life was like in White Plains in the mid and late 18th century. Re-enactors will be on hand to offer information on the 1776 Battle of White Plains and also how local families prepared food, furnished their home and made their own candles, brooms and household implements. The "militia" will be present to demonstrate how the soldiers lived, dressed and drilled. All with no charge.
