3:00pm / Join us for a conversation with Gemma New. New Zealand-born conductor Gemma New makes her Caramoor debut in this program including Jessie Montgomery’s Strum, which draws on American folk idioms and the spirit of dance and movement, Mozart’s “Haffner” Symphony, and Brahms’ epic Violin Concerto with violinist Karen Gomyo, an alumna of our Evnin Rising Stars program and deemed by The Chicago Tribune as a “first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, brilliance and intensity.” For those who prefer a more casual concert environment, Garden Listening tickets are $20, and are free for Members and children under 18 years old. Listen to the concert broadcast onto Friends Field (audio only) while enjoying a picnic, admiring a starry sky, or relaxing with the family. We recommend you bring your own seating for Garden Listening. Program:Jessie Montgomery: Strum |
