George Washington’s America: Through Maps. At 1 PM, historian and author Barnet Schecter explores the public life and military career of George Washington through a remarkable series of 18th century maps in the possession of the commanding general of the Continental army and our nation’s first President. In an innovative presentation, Mr. Schechter utilizes the maps to chronicle Washington’s participation in the French and Indian War, the American Revolution and the founding of the republic. Following the talk, enjoy a guided tour of the church and historic cemetery, among the nation's oldest burial yards. |
