Historic Purdy House will be open for tours from 12-4pm with a special prpgram at 1pm: Come visit with Drew (Pekatawas MakataweU “Black Corn”) a true American of the mid-Atlantic region, he honors all of his ancestors as a practicing living historian. Discover the extent of Native American involvement in the military and militia during the colonial wars of the 18th century. Handle key artifacts such as bark baskets, stone axes, spoons, bows and arrows, animal pelts and leather, and discover the techniques archaeologists, historians and anthropologists use to merge their knowledge into an accurate picture of the past. Limited parking. No restrooms available. Program is rain or shine. |
