Our exciting "1st Wednesday" series continues with Open Mic, SLAM competition and guest poet Omar Holmon! Omar Holmon is a New Jersey native, four-time Grand Slam (2008, 2009) Loser Slam Grand Slam (2009), Nuyorican Poet's Cafe Grand Slam (2010), & Urbana Grand Slam champion. He has been on the final stage at the national
poetry slam, and has appeared on Verses and Flow. Omar is the only man alive to punch the planet Jupiter in the face and also as of five minutes ago discover three new species of ferns. NOTE: The slam has moved back to the WHITE PLAINS PUBLIC LIBRARY at 100 Martine Avenue in White Plains. To take part in the open mic or slam, please register at 6:30 pm. Slammers should bring one original poem of up to 3 minutes. Registration closes promptly at 7, and the program starts shortly thereafter. Co-hosted by local poet and slam-master Eric ZORK Alan.
