Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT)’s Jazz Masters Series Presents Grammy-Nominated Enrique Haneine, #1 on Top 30 Jazz Charts |

On Saturday, November 3, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) continues its Jazz Masters music series with internationally known, Grammy-nominated musician Enrique Haneine, whose recently released album, The Mind’s Mural, has reached #1 on the NACC Top 30 Jazz Charts. Enrique and his band will be appearing for two sets at 7:30 and 9 pm. Once the music director for Ricky Martin, Enrique won the Jane Jarvis Jazz Competition, the All About Jazz New York’s Best 2005 Albums of the Year, and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Latin Jazz album in 2013. A composer/pianist/drummer currently living in New York, Enrique has played at such major venues as Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, Sweet Rhythm, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and Bowery Poetry Club in New York City; The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Blues Alley in DC; at music festivals worldwide and on stages at NYU, Pratt Institute, and Rockefeller University. Born in Mexico City of Lebanese descent, his music is founded in Jazz, Latin and Lebanese traditions. Enrique has performed and collaborated alongside some of the greatest jazz musicians of our time, each of whom influenced and informed his unique personal style, a blend of innovative technique with uninhibited, yet intelligent improvisation. He holds masters degrees in Jazz Piano Performance from The Boston Conservatory and Berklee College of Music, is a faculty member at the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts in Manhattan and plays for the Alvin Ailey Dance Company's Arts in Education program. The Westchester Collaborative Theater is a multicultural, cooperative theater company located in Ossining, NY, dedicated to developing new work for the stage and bringing live theater to the community. It is comprised of local playwrights, actors, and directors who employ a Lab approach in which new stage works are nurtured through an iterative process of readings, critiques, and rewrites. When work is ready for production, it is produced for the public at various local venues. WCT is committed to furthering theater arts in our community. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and a recipient of production grants from ArtsWestchester and New York State Council on the Arts. |
