PEEKSKILL'S 9TH ANNUAL JUNETEENTH PARADE & CELEBRATION - SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 2019 Acknowledging 400 years of Africans in American "1619 - 2019" The Parade begins at 12 Noon at the intersection of Park & Broad Streets (near Peekskill's beautiful new Central Firehouse). It will turn off Broad onto Main Street and continue to the reviewing stand on Nelson Avenue. The parade will feature five bands to delight parade goers. The Celebration at Peekskill's beautiful Riverfront Green will begin shortly after the conclusion of the parade. There will be food vendors, craft vendors and a full evening of entertainment on the Peekskill Showmobile Stage headlined by Force MD and Peekskill's own, internationally renowned Jazz Saxophonist, Ray Blue. Our Grand Marshals are: The Honorable Andrea Stewart-Cousins - New York State Senate Majority Leader. Ms. Steward-Cousins is the first female Senate Majority Leader in NY history. Theodore "Ted" Bitter - Proprietor of the Bean Runner Cafe in Peekskill, offering great food at reasonable prices and bringing the community first rate music, predominantly Jazz. Since 2005 Mr. Bitter has been volunteering his time as the Coach of the Westchester Striders Track & Field Club. Wilfredo Morel - Mr. Morel is Director of Hispanic Health at Hudson River Healthcare. Mr. Morel is also Executive Director of the non-profit ARTS 10566 where he shares his renowned artistic gifts with the youth of Peekskill.
