Singer, percussionist, songwriter and Bahia native Nanny Assis, will be performing with his Trio for the opening show of JazzFest 2019! Over the course of his career Assis has performed with artists including Vinicius Cantauria, Eumeir Deodato and John Patitucci, and has become a master of the many styles of Brazilian music. Assis will be leading his Trio though a set of Brazilian Jazz, Afro-Brazilian music and other popular and folkloric sounds from his homeland.

The 8th annual JazzFest White Plains features an impressive lineup of internationally renowned musicians spanning a weeklong celebration of jazz, culture and community from September 11-15, 2019. The five-day festival produced by ArtsWestchester, The City of White Plains and The White Plains BID is presented this year by Bank of America.
