Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center GenerationsForward Meeting September 11 featuring “What Makes Jewish Genealogy Different”

The Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center has created a second and third generation group called GenerationsForward. This group includes children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. We meet throughout the year and have ongoing projects and events.

Our next meeting is September 11 at 7 PM will feature Nolan Altman, JewishGen’s Vice President for Data Acquisition. Nolan will present “What Makes Jewish Genealogy Different”. He will describe what makes Jewish genealogy different from other ethnic groups, the challenges dealing with documents, and what patronymic naming is, how they are used, and how they impacted our family names.

Location on request.

If you would have like to be part of this group, RSVP for the meeting, or have questions, please contact Millie Jasper at or call (914)696-0738
