The Symphony of Westchester 23rd Season Opening Concert

Pianist Alon Goldstein will open the Symphony of

Westchester’s 23rd concert season at Iona College on Sat., Nov. 9, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. in an

 all-Beethoven program.

 

            Goldstein, a frequent performer with the Symphony of Westchester, will play Piano Concerto no. 5, op. 73, in E flat Major.  Also on the program are Coriolan Overture, op. 62 and Symphony no. 5, op. 67 in C minor.

            Goldstein, who maintains an extensive world-wide touring schedule, is the Artistic Director for The Distinguished Artists Concert & Lecture Series in Santa Cruz, CA, and is also the Artistic Director of the Mt. Angel Abbey Bach Festival in Oregon. He created the Emerald Coast Music Alliance in Florida, which brings classical music to under-served communities.

            The Symphony’s concert season at Iona College will continue with performances on Dec. 15 and on May 9, 2020.   Their annual family-oriented Young Artist Showcase program, featuring concerto competition winners and student composers, will be on Feb. 9, 2020.

            All concerts are at Iona’s Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium, 715 North Ave., New Rochelle. Ticket prices are $55 general admission, $40 seniors (65+) and $15 students with ID.
