Slow Reading Book Discussion

Monday, November 09, 2020  02:00pm  04:00pm

Building on this past spring's close reading of Toni Morrison's novel /Beloved/, Slow Reading will dedicate the Fall 2020-Spring 2021 sessions to an in-depth study of some masterpieces of African-American literature. Featured on November 9, 16, 23, and 30 is /The Bluest Eye/ (1970), Toni Morrison's first novel. (The 1970 Vintage International edition is the preferable text.) The book and audiobook are available in our physical collection. The novel is also available from Overdrive and Libby. Lambert has a Ph.D. from Yale in English and taught high-school English at The Dalton School for over 25 years. Contact Ellen at or 914-582-4050 for details.
