Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center Memory Keepers: GenerationsForward Speaker Series-Karin Meyers

Please join the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center Memory Keepers GenerationsForward Speaker Series on Thursday, December 3 at 7 p.m. via Zoom in the safety and comfort of your own home.

Karin Beuthner Meyers will tell her family’s story.  Karin, born in in Wuppertal, Germany in 1937, was delivered by her father, an obstetrician, at home.  Jews, at that time, were not allowed to be admitted to hospitals and Jewish doctors were not allowed to treat Non-Jews.  However, Dr. Beuthner continued to care for his patients and for this he was arrested.

Later freed, Karin tells the story of her parent’s emigration as well as the fates of other family members that are pictured in a faded photograph the last time they were together.

Karin Beuthner Meyers graduated with honors from Brandeis University and received a Masters of Humanities degree.  She was an adjunct lecturer in Medical Ethics at Mt. Sinai Hospital and is a member of its Institutional Research Review Board.

For Zoom log-in information, please email Millie Jasper

Our next Memory Keepers GenerationsForward Speakers will be Sandy Mehl on Thursday, December 10 and Shelley Greenspan on Thursday, December 17.
