Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center Memory Keepers GenerationsForward Speaker-Barbara Lewis Kaplan

Please join the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center on March 18 at 7 p.m. in the safety and comfort of your own home to listen to Memory Keepers GenerationsForward speaker Barbara Lewis Kaplan.

Barbara father, Leon Lewis, grew up in Krakow, Poland and survived the horrors of the Holocaust, enduring slave labor and torture of four different concentration camps, including Plazcow, the camp portrayed in “Schindler’s List.”  She tells of her father’s literal leap of faith to escape a cattle car headed for an extermination camp.  Her father’s story is one of resilience and perseverance.  He built his life in America, while overcoming obstacles including the death of his American-born wife at a young age.  With rare photos and videos, Barbara brings her father’s journey, and describes her emotional trip back to Krakow with Leon.
