Remembering 9/11

Tuesday, August 31, 2021  07:00pm  08:30pm

In this workshop, we will explore memories of and around the events of September 11th, 2001. Around the country, twisted bits of metal from the Twin Towers are displayed in memorials with the words "Never Forget." But what exactly do we want to remember about that day? What should we remember? Join us for a deep but gentle dive into our memories around the tragedy, and how we’ve grappled with it in the twenty years since. You will be given sample writing and structured prompts to help you craft your stories according your unique point of view. While our memories of this day may be similar, they are unique to each of you, and White Plains Public Library would like to see your stories. I would like to help you craft them. The workshop is designed for all levels of writing experience. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants’ writing will be preserved and celebrated in an attractive print anthology and live, virtual public reading. This workshop was made possible by a grant from Poets and Writers <https://www.pw.org/>.
