Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 Suggested for children ages 7 through 12. We are excited to present Battery “B” First Rhode Island Light Artillery to run the Civil War Soldier Experience. Each two-hour session -- 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. -- will consist of a number of fun-filled, educational activities and demonstrations, ending with the firing of an actual Civil War cannon. Children will witness living history while learning about the life of Civil War soldiers and their families. This program will be outdoors, so children should be prepared to stay outside during the camp. Participants should bring water, snacks, bug spray and sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothing for outside activities. Visit www.lasdonpark.com to reserve a session today or tomorrow: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Participation is by registration only, as the program can accommodate only 25 children per session. At the end of each session, each child will receive a personalized certificate of participation and an official Lasdon badge. $35. |
