Star Gazing

Saturday, December 03, 2022  06:00pm  07:00pm

Join Nick Lombardo, a PhD candidate in Earth and Planetary Science at Yale University, where he studies the atmosphere of Titan, the largest moon of Saturn. You will listen to stories about the constellations as you learn to find them by 'star-hopping' from one bright star to the next. Using backyard telescopes set up at the event, you'll be able to view Earth's neighboring planets, distant galaxies, and regions of newly formed stars. Hot chocolate will be served. All ages welcome! Due the light sensitive nature of the human eye, we request that attendees refrain from using bright white flashlights at the event, as these disrupt your ability to observe the night sky. If you bring a flashlight, please cover it with red cellophane or red plastic to preserve everyone’s night vision. Red lanterns will be set up at the event.

Location     Trailside Nature Museum, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Routes 35 and 121, Cross River
