Hudson Chorale, now rehearsing in Pleasantville, welcomes new members in January for Elijah Since 2010, Hudson Chorale, Westchester’s largest chorus, has been performing in venues throughout Westchester, bringing the best in choral singing to the Hudson Valley. The chorus now enjoys a region-wide reputation among both singers and audience members for its outstanding programming, superb artistry and interesting repertoire that ranges from the great masterpieces of the past to engaging contemporary compositions.
The Chorale is welcoming new members in all voice parts (SATB) beginning January 25, 2016 when rehearsals begin for a May 14, 2016, concert. The program will be dedicated exclusively to Mendelssohn’s spectacular oratorio, Elijah, which will be performed in English and feature full orchestral accompaniment. Elijah is modelled after the works of Mendelsohn’s favorite composers, Bach and Handel, but its orchestral and choral colour reflect his own unique style and genius.
“Singer-friendly” auditions will take place by appointment on Monday, January 25, 2016, prior to the first rehearsal. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings at the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church, 400 Bedford Rd, Pleasantville, NY. To receive additional information and/or to schedule a time for an audition, contact Jeanne Wygant at or call (914) 478-0074.
