Wednesday, April 06, 2016  07:30pm  09:00pm

Ferry Sloops' 2016 Spring Lecture Series kicks-off on Wednesday, April 6, 2015 at 7:30pm, with "Fort Kitchawanc: A Prehistoric Native American Structure on Croton Point" presented by Scott Horecky.

The Croton Point Park peninsula contains the remains of a very large Native American fortified enclosure, with traces of possible earthwork features and burial remains.

Croton Point's unique glacial geology and estuarine environment proved an attractive location for prehistoric Native Americans for over 9,000 years ending soon after the arrival of Dutch colonists in the early 1600s.
