Maija will present on the HudSONAR research project and the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. The HudSONAR project is an ongoing biological acoustic research project conducted at Stony Brook University utilizing the historic sailing vessel as a platform for scientific research on the estuary. This talk will cover the basics of biological acoustics, will illustrate how this educational sailing vessel serves as an ideal host for scientific research, and will discuss some of the resent HudSONAR findings on fish and zooplankton in the Hudson.
