RiverTalks: A Kayaker's View of the Hudson (Honoring Vladimir Brezina) w/Johna Till Johnson

Thursday, March 09, 2017  07:00pm  09:00pm

The Hudson River has been a source of beauty, inspiration, and sustenance--not to mention a major transportation route--since before its exploration by westerners in the 17th century. But even for those most familiar with this river/estuary, there are wonderful surprises to discover. This talk covers the Hudson from the point of view of one of its most dedicated followers, the late kayaker (and neuroscientist) Vladimir Brezina.

For upwards of 20 years, Dr. Brezina has paddled the Hudson in his collapsible Feathercraft, accumulating lore and stories along the way. This talk by his wife and paddling companion Johna Till Johnson shares some of the most fascinating details of the Hudson River from a paddler's perspective. You'll come away with a fresh perspective on, and new respect for, our beloved friend the Hudson River.
