County Executive Robert P. Astorino invites all to Westchester’s 2017 Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Kensico Dam Plaza. This annual spring-time celebration will have live music and entertainment, environmental exhibitors, an outdoor market with ready-to-eat foods and earth-friendly products, and giveaways. Kicking off the day’s festivities will be the presentation of the county’s Earth Day Awards by County Executive Astorino, acknowledging local environmental achievements and recycling initiatives. This is a fun event for all ages! Admission and parking are free. This event is rain or shine, so be sure to mark your calendar. The county’s Mobile Shredder will be present at the event. Residents can bring up to 4 file-size boxes of confidential papers per household for shredding. Kensico Dam Plaza is located at 1 Bronx River Parkway in Valhalla. For more information or general recycling questions, visit the Environmental Facilities Web site or call the Westchester County Recycling HelpLine at (914) 813-5425. We look forward to seeing you there! |
