Join CURB, Sarah Lawrence College’s Theatre Outreach Program and the Child Development Institute for a day of spring fun along the Hudson River! FREE activities will be taking place throughout the day:

10:00am - 1:00pm - 6th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep

CURB is the Yonkers site for the 6th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep! Last year 2,200 volunteers, and dozens of community partners worked along hundreds of miles of shoreline from Brooklyn to Troy to remove over 48 tons of debris, and plant and maintain 836 trees and native grasses. Here at our Yonkers site we will work on waterfront trash clean-ups, marsh erosion repairs, and invasive plant removal. Gloves are provided and a pizza lunch is included. All ages welcome!

1:00pm - Community Adventure Play Experience (CAPE)

Children of all ages are invited to participate in a Community Adventure Play Experience where they'll make creations using natural and recycled materials (cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, fabric, etc.) and lots of imagination! Volunteer playworkers will be on hand to assist children as needed, and parents are welcome. Participants of the CAPE program will make bird-themed crafts to be used in the Little Pea performance to follow.

2:30pm - Little Pea: A New Musical for Young and Old Audiences

It's all about the adventures of Little Pea, a blue jay lost in a museum's gallery that is filled with pictures of beautiful peacocks. Can Little Pea’s s friends, Robin and Penelope Peacock, help her find her way home? An original SLC Theatre Outreach production performed by Sarah Lawrence College Theatre Outreach students and written, directed and designed by Sarah Lawrence Theatre Faculty. Book by Allen Lang. Lyrics and music by Shirley Kaplan and directed by Shirley Kaplan with costumes by Carol Pelletier. For ages four and up. Running time - forty minutes.
