 Yossi Sucary is the author of Benghazi-Bergen-Belsen: The Lost Story of the Holocaust of North African Jews, the first novel about the Holocaust of Libyan Jews, which brilliantly depicts the transformations and tribulations this intriguing community has undergone during the Second World War

                  
                  The novel was chosen by the Israeli Ministry of Education to be included in the Holocaust studies program for high school students. Mr. Sucary has been awarded the Brenner prize for Hebrew Literature, the Prime Minister Prize for Hebrew Literature and the Washington-Israel Institute Prize for this and his three other novels. Benghazi-Bergen-Belsen, was adapted into a successful play that premiered at La MaMa theater company in early 2017.
