Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center and JCC Mid Westchester Book Talk: Something Beautiful Happened: A story of Survival and Courage in the Face of Evil with Yvette Manessis Corporon moderated by Steve Goldberg, Co-Educational Director of the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center. Yvette Manessis Corporon grew up listening to her grandmother’s stories about how people of her native Greek island hid a Jewish family from the Nazis. The story stayed with Yvette. She found the survivor’s descendants in Israel. Their reunion was cut short by her cousin’s child gunned down by a Neo-Nazi at the JCC of Kansas. Yvette Manessis Corporon is a New Rochelle native, a three-time Emmy Award winning writer and producer. This book talk will take place on January 24, 7:30 PM at the JCC Mid Westchester, 999 Wilmot Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583. $20 per ticket. Please call (914)472-3300 for more information.
