UPDATE Livable Communities Age Friendly Event Time and Location Changed Due To Storm

**THURSDAY’S EVENT HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 11 AM AT THE COUNTY CENTER DUE TO IMPENDING STORM**

LIVABLE COMMUNITIES AGE FRIENDLY COLLABORATIVE NETWORKING EVENT TO FEATURE TIMES COLUMNIST PAULA SPAN

(Mt. Vernon, NY) - Westchester County Executive George Latimer has announced that the County is presenting a free event for professionals in the aging field: The 5th Annual Livable Communities Age Friendly Collaborative Networking Breakfast and Conference; The Purposeful Life Re-Imagined on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Due to the impending inclement weather, the event time and location have been changed to 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Westchester County Center, 198 Central Avenue, Rooms A-C First Floor, in White Plains.    

The program remains the same and will feature:

  • Paula Span, a columnist with The New York Times who writes The New Old Age and Generation Grandparent for the publication. Span is the author of the book, When the Time Comes: Families with Aging Parents Share their Struggles and Solutions and is a Columbia University Journalism Professor.
  • Kerry C. Mills, MPA, a Dementia Coach, Alzheimer’s Professional and co-author of the book, I Care: A Handbook for Care Partners of People with Dementia, will speak along with Ruth Rosenblum, LCSW, a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher with Westchester Jewish Community Services.
  • Rabbi Michael Goldman, Director and Founder of Seivah: Life Beyond Memory, and Director of Westchester Jewish Community Services Senior Programs, will serve as the moderator.

Reservations are requested, and refreshments will be served. Limited sponsorship opportunities are available. This event is sponsored by Westchester County’s Department of Senior Programs and Services, the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services, and the Livable Communities Age-Friendly Community Sustainability Collaborative.  AgeWell New York is a Platinum Sponsor.
